VoIP investment is rising

Investment in
voice over internet protocol technology has increased over the past
year, according to a new study.
Research by iLocus shows that the number of VoIP access server
licenses shipped worldwide increased by 67% this year and the amount
of overall VoIP traffic increased by 35%.
The research firm believes that VoIP carriers are in now a position
where they are forced to continue to invest in the technology.
The report says: "Due to the losses in landlines, wireline operators
are expanding into mobile and mobile operators on the other hand are
looking to leverage fixed broadband networks for voice offload or
over-the-top services."
