IP Revenue to beat TDM Voice Revenue in 2009
01/08/08
According to a
recent report by Dell'Oro Group, PBX market annual revenues from IP
lines is anticipated to surpass TDM revenue for the first time in
2009.
The report also indicates that the total PBX market is forecasted to
exceed $8 billion in 2012, fuelled in large part on increased sales
to small and medium businesses.
"As IP telephony vendors reach the saturation point with the first
deployments of IP in larger businesses, we believe the SMB voice
market is poised to see significant new product introductions over
the next five years," said Alan Weckel, Senior Analyst at Dell'Oro
Group.
"This renewed focus on SMBs will initially lead to further
fragmentation of the market landscape, both of the vendors and of
the solutions offered. Despite significant consolidation amongst
vendors in the SMB space, new entrants over the past three years
have actually increased the number of vendors offering SMB
solutions," Weckel added.
